Have you been flowing into the zone latelty ?

Dr Steven Pace from QLD University has researched on one of the most addictive hobbies of the 21 Century, COMPUTER GAMES

The following SMH article explains more in details his thoughts and results, however there is a comment from a gamer that says:

Another reported losing all sense of time when he sat at the computer after dinner. "The next thing it's 3am and everyone has gone to sleep. I didn't even remember saying goodnight to my wife and kids"

I feel so identify with that comment. The thing is when you are not a Gamers you can't understand what happen when for example, you sit for a quick session of BF2 and suddenly you realize that you are having one of those days where every 2 bullets that you fire, you get a kill……or the feeling when a chopper full of soldiers[+5] is locked in your Anti-Aircraft turret, you fire and the left side of your screen says

You killed...

You killed...

You killed...

You killed...

You killed...

In those cases is when you say to yourself "Ok, is late, one more map and then going to bed" but 3 hours later, you continue killing noobs and getting Flags in some part of the middle east or China.

I think the whole gaming community tends to get scrutinised over spending long hours in front of their computers, either because the game they're playing is far too violent todays society or because playing games has caused you to ignore the family & friends, or even - in extreme cases keeping gamers from seeing the light of day unless it's to go to work.
They've coined this state of time "loss" as the "time dialation effect"; where you sit infront of the computer & play a game for what you think to have been 10 mins, but it's been hours.
I find computer gamers are particularly targeted in these cases, however, this whole time dialation effect can occur with all walks of life, how many time have we gone out with friends after work on a Friday afternoon & told the Mrs. that we're going to be home soon, should only be an hr or 2 - suddenly it's 2am & we're still kicking the drinks back?! Yet, it seems easy & highly just to discriminate against the computer gamer...
Gonza, you're right, unless you're a gamer, you can't identify with the whole;
You killed...
You killed...
You killed...
on the left hand side of your screen, then again... maybe you don't agree with me?

What do you think?

I agree 100% with Delta 38. People look at gamers like persons who waste their time.

You have to try before to judge!!!*

*My statment do not apply to everything in life, some of them are very dangerous :-)
